In high school, he was friends with her older brother; but being 4 years older than her, they never really met. Fast forward 6 years later, they both were attending Texas State University. Kendall noticed Mason in the quad and asked if he remembered her. Mason took a minute to recognize her since the last time he saw her she was younger. Mason later on asked for her number on Facebook which led to 5 years of dates spent by the river and Game of Thrones binge watching together.

On vacation this past summer in Colorado, Mason wanted to find a good place to fly fish at 11 Mile Canyon off of the South Platte River. They spent about 2 hours fishing and hanging out, when Kendall was ready to leave. She was hungry and ready to see friends. Mason objected saying that he wanted to stay a little longer to try out a new fly.  Kendall noticed that it looked funny and shouted, “you aren’t going to catch a fish with that silly fly!”. He said it was a special fly meant for some rare fish and she believed him. While patiently waiting for him to finish casting, the fly landed on a rock in front of Kendall. She looked down and saw it was a laminated piece of paper that read “Will You Marry Me?” Mason went down on one knee,  pulled out a ring, and said “Kendall, nothing in the world would make me happier than to call you my wife. Will you marry me?”. Instantly in (happy) tears, she said “Yes!”

On the 2nd coldest day of this millennium, without a cloud in the sky, Kendall and Mason invited their dearest family and friends to witness as they said their vows. Just up the road from Austin, Texas at the lovely River House on the Pedernales, we captured the truly beautiful couple, and I have to say, the day was amazing. Seeing the love between Mason and Kendall and so many that support them share in their happiness was an honor.
