It was a 99% match…

Karen and Tim’s lives can be easily admired by those hoping to achieve academic & career success. Karen is a soon to be Medical Doctor and Tim soon to hold a PHD at his dream school, Texas Christian University, in Fort Worth, Texas. At the time, both hard working and successful students were still missing that special someone and found themselves pressured by friends onto the same dating site where they turned out to be a 99% match. Tim thought, “there is no way we can’t meet!”. Their first date at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens soon made any unlikely chances of them not being a good match fade away….they hit it off and soon began dating.

After a few years of many study dates, “I love you’s”, and even surviving a 2013 Texas snowpocalypse together….Tim knew he wanted to propose to Karen. Oddly enough, in the winter of 2015, another mighty snowstorm hit the Fort Worth area. Tim was going to propose to Karen after one of her surgery exams but it was canceled due to inclement weather. Tim panicked and said that he absolutely needed a rhetoric book that was at his apartment. During the drive after he planned out a strategy of proposing to her at a cafe where he first told Karen he loved her. At the cafe, he was unimpressed by the unromantic tone, so they left. When they returned to Karen’s apartment, Tim knew this was his last chance! Right when Karen was taking off her layers, before she knew it, Tim got down on one knee. An unsuspecting Karen turned around to see the sight of Tim holding her grandma’s ring…tears! Karen said yes! The two even announced their engagement by writing it in the Texas snow…. to friends and family all over the world!

Karen and Tim’s day was nothing short of amazing. The two couldn’t have imagined a better day spent with friends and family. It was a surprisingly cool late spring day in Fort Worth Texas. The day was filled with unique touches, laughter, tears, and dancing! Tim and Karen, thank you so much for including me in your beautiful day as your photographer! You two shine bright and add a special warm feeling to any room you are in. I wish you all the best, Kelly.

Karen and Tim began their wedding day with a Vietnamese Tea Ceremony. Karen’s family is Vietnamese and it was so special and beautiful to watch…

Their Tea Ceremony was held at Szechaun Resturant in Fort Worth, Texas.

Karen wore traditional Vietnamese Wedding Attire for the Tea Ceremony, complete with a beautiful Khan Doug headdress.

I learned that it is traditional for the groom to wear blue and the bride to wear red..Tim and Karen looked amazing! It was a great way to set the tone for the day with family, friends, and love!

Karen’s wedding dress was one of the four dresses she wore that day…but her wedding dress was the one that she would marry the love of her life in!

Fast forward a few happy tears and a little drive… and Karen and Tim were getting ready for their wedding held at McKinney Church in Fort Worth.

Karen’s dear grandmother passed last October but her legacy was present in the wedding day. Even the diamond in Karen’s engagement ring was hand picked by her grandmother. Contrast to the Tea Ceremony, the colors soon changed to purple. I’m sure Tim from TCU had something to do with it!

The beautiful bride surrounded herself with a few of her closest family and friends as her bridesmaids. She wanted the girl’s own individual styles to shine through, so she let them pick out their own bridesmaid dresses.

Tim and the guys were obviously not relaxed enough….

It was a sweet wedding ceremony with many smiles and laughs.

Karen was beaming the entire ceremony while Tim’s unending love for Karen showed in his eyes.

Karen and Tim have a way of inviting others to celebrate with them..right after the kiss the two raised their arms and their guests and families cheered! Now all for one team..the newlywed Ballingalls!

Karen and Tim snuck away for some after ceremony couple’s photos in gorgeous natural light! The sun came out just for them!

The two were beaming…hearts filled with love and joy.

Karen’s smile is infectious! She is gorgeous!

Tim cares for Karen so well..he even carried her dress for an easier walk for Karen.

2 locations and 2 dresses later…Karen was now in her third dress of the day! The guests and the couple headed over to their 3rd and final location for their wedding reception….the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History!

The museum was the perfect pick for the two…we took some more photos in front of the impressive museum.

Karen….go on with your beauty! We can’t get enough!

The two shared a sweet first dance then invited all of their friends and family to get down with them on the dance floor!

Smiles shared with family and friends and debut dance moves were a plenty!

Karen sketched and designed their 3 wedding cakes…everyone loved the geodes on this one! Perfect for their museum setting.

The two enjoyed a last dance and a sparkler exit….what a gorgeous day.

The day was wonderful. A special thanks to all the creatives!
