It was her senior year at St. Edwards University in Austin, TX. A softball player, Meagen’s team was in need of a temporary coach. He had just finished playing professional baseball with the Miami Marlins. Robert heard of the needed position, and volunteered as coach. Clashing at first, Meagen and Robert had to learn to respect each other as the season went on. It was after the season of learning more about each other that a spark was lit, and Robert asked Meagen out on a first date.
A few months later, after an evening church service at Austin Stone, Meagen and Robert took a walk down to the dock on Town Lake. Close to the water and with no one around, Robert washed Meagen’s feet while reading his favorite passage from the Bible-When Jesus washed his disciple’s feet, a symbol of servitude and love. Robert promised Meagen to love and serve her. Two years later at the same dock, Robert asked Meagen if he could love and serve her forever. She said, Yes!
On a gorgeous Fall day in the Texas Hill Country, Meagen and Robert married at Rio Vista Camp surrounded by loved ones, family, friends, and stunning views. Meagen and Robert, my heart overflows with love for you both. You’re the type of people that make the world a better place. The grace and love shown by you both makes others want to support you in profound ways and I am honored to have documented your first day as husband and wife. So much love and appreciation, Kelly
Meagen and the girls did hair and makeup at the adorable and historic Y.O. Ranch hotel in Kerrville, TX before going to the venue…not without doughnuts and banana pudding of course!
Meagen opted to do her own makeup. I loved this moment of the two sisters putting on their makeup together.
The details were gorgeous. Meagen’s dress was gorgeous and soft as a cloud..The rings looked as if they were made for each other.
Friends and family members put in the special touches with the decor. Even the jarred honey on the table was made from her cousin’s bees.
Meagen’s bridesmaids were her sister and some of the best of friends. They helped Meagen with all aspects of her day from words of affirmation and support, to helping her put on her dress, to making her a quick sandwich to tie them all over till the reception. Seriously, these girls are awesome!
Meagen glowed alongside the river and trees. It was cool and the air was crisp..a beautiful day for a wedding.
Since the ceremony area was made of gravel, Meagen rocked cute boots under her gown.
Robert and his groomsmen, his new brother in law and his own brothers, had spent the morning fishing. A great group of guys!
The boys got ready in style…obviously.
Thanks to Robert Kluting for lending his Oldsmobile 442 for their wedding day!
Meagen took a few quiet moments before the ceremony to read her Bible and pray with her bridesmaids and flower girl. A sweet heartfelt moment.
Robert and the bridal party rode over to the ceremony area in golf carts while Zack and Greg from Blue Water Highway Band serenaded the guests.
Nothing is sweeter…a speechless groom adoring his beautiful bride to be.
A kids camp during the summer, Camp Rio Vista served as a unique and gorgeous location for the wedding.
Their first steps as husband and wife!
The couple spent a few moments alone before the reception while we took photos. The Fall light joined us.
This couple is the cutest.
A couple of sweet dances with their parents. How cute are Robert and his mom(going barefoot).
The Taylor’s first dance..
Blue Water Highway Band put on a great reception show for all the guests…young and old.
The couple danced and talked with their guests. No sparklers for this couple due to a fire ban, but that was no problem for the creative pair. They used candles that were apart of the decor for a beautiful eliminated exit!
