They grew up in the same hometown and knew each other as children. In their freshman year of High School the two had a class together. The two became close and started dating after Callen made a habit out of playing with Cheyenne’s hair.
After High School the two both attended Texas A&M and became Aggies. Their love grew throughout their time in College Station. When Callen accepted a job at Conoco Phillips and was relocated to Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Cheyenne made the easy decision to join him and together they fell in love with the little town and each other more and more.
One week Callen suggested the two go to Kansas City for a weekend with a couple of friends. Cheyenne agreed and thought it sounded relaxing. As they got in the car and started driving, Callen yelled out “Trick time! We’re not going to KC, We’re going on a surprise trip and Charlie (our mini schnauzer) is coming with us!”. Instead of driving north he drove south to Broken Bow, Oklahoma where Beaver’s Bend State Park where Cheyenne would vacation with family as a child. The two spent the weekend walking trails, and relaxing. Callen even arranged for Cheyenne to have off work that Monday!
That Sunday night, Callen asked Cheyenne to a fancy dinner. Little did Cheyenne know that as she was getting ready, Callen was scheming his proposal. When Cheyenne came out of the room, dressed up and ready for a luxurious dinner, she saw Callen on one knee in front of the super romantic lit fireplace with adorably sweet music playing and a fancy white box! Cheyenne dropped her purse and stood in shock finally bursting out in happy tears-Cheyenne said YES! Much to even more surprise Callen recorded the entire thing.
On a perfectly warm but cool day, I met with Cheyenne and Callen all the way up in their town of Bartlesville, Oklahoma for their engagement session. I had so much fun and can’t wait for their MEXICO wedding!
