Matthew and Sidney had a mutual “friend”, her brother. When Trey and Matthew became roommates in college, Matthew and Sidney started to get to know eachother better and discovered that it could be the perfect match! They discovered a spark, and even though their colleges were states away, the long distance only made their hearts grow fonder and their love stronger.

Matthew is known for making delicious homemade dinners, surprising Sidney with sweet gifts, and going the extra mile for her. July 22, 2016 was no exception when Matthew planned a super special scavenger hunt. So Sidney and her mom jumped in the car and headed out in her hometown for clues. There was a theme, at each location Sidney would find a Nicholas Sparks book with a love letter inside with a hint that led her to the next destination.

The first book was lying on Sidney’s bed with an outfit Matthew picked out for the evening. By the outfit was a Nicholas Sparks book titled “Dear John” which Matthew had changed to “Dear Sidney Jane”. Immediately , tears flooded Sidney’s eyes. She knew the moment they had both been waiting for was finally here. The clue led her to Starbucks where she found her dad lounging in a chair holding another book “A Walk to Remember”.  The 2nd clue led her to a bookstore, where she found her best friend sitting in the cafe with the book “The Choice”.

The final clude led Sidney to the beach where she saw her sister, Cassidy, holding the last letter for her to read. Cassidy led her down a rose petal path which led Sidney to Matthew, perfectly timed at sunset. Matthew got down on one knee presenting the final book called “The Wedding”… and inside a ring, sitting in a heart he had carved out just for her. Sidney, with the biggest smile on her face said “YES”!

Sidney and Matthew will be continuing their love story in Seattle this year and wanted a city vibed shoot. Unlike most sunny Texas days, the weather was misty and cool-So Seattle we embraced it! Matthew and Sidney thank you so much for having me as your engagement photographer! I had such a great time exploring H-Town with you and I can not wait for your wedding in December! -Kelly
