They didn’t know each other…
But their eyes met from across the room at their mutual friend’s poker game night. Though they didn’t know each other, they both were looking for an adventure. That night, John asked Joanna if she would be up for a spontaneous trip to Panama… Later that week! Little did they know, the trip to Panama would be their first of many. Puerto Rico, Ireland, and Argentina and many more other travels, they became well traveled together.
7 plus adventurous years of dating later they found themselves last summer in Juno, Alaska. John knew that he wanted to propose to Joanna and he had found the perfect spot, a glacier. During their hike, the two crossed a stream, and Joanna slipped and fell. Though she laughed it off, John wanted the proposal to be perfect, so he waited. The next day on Douglas beach, the glaciers far but still in sight, John knew that it was time. On the sandy beach, John surprised Joanna and asked her to marry him..she said YES!
It was a cool day when John and Joanna, surrounded by family and friends, said their “I do’s”, at Brodie Homestead in Austin, Texas. John and Joanna are both very casual, but their love for eachother shined bright for all to see. John and Joanna thank you so much for having me as your wedding photographer. John and Joanna’s details were perfectly personal to them. John’s ring was composed of dinosaur bone and meteorite and their invitation suite was themed complete with an inserted star map.
Joanna is an equestrian and videos other equestrian matches. Brodie Homestead is in a barn style so it was perfect for her wedding!
