Kenna and JT were closer than they knew…

Growing up in the same church they most likely spent significant time in the same room, but never talked with the other. Then, one day, JT decided it was time to talk to Kenna.  He learned that she would be attending the same college he did, so he took a chance and asked if she would like to meet up for coffee. Kenna quickly said “I don’t like coffee”. JT, quick on his feet, asked “What about dinner?” The likes of which she could not turn down. The next day they went to dinner and stayed talking at the restaurant until they were asked to leave at closing time.  They continued their conversation in the parking lot and even shared their first dance together before parting ways. it may have not been love at first sight but it was certainly love at first date! A week later JT asked Kenna to be his girlfriend and they began dating.

When it was time for Kenna to go to college a state away, JT and Kenna began a year of long distance dating. With the miles between then they grew to cherish their relationship and appreciated the time they did have together. With time, their relationship only grew stronger.

Last May, Kenna was home from school enjoying a day spent with two of her closest friends. All of a sudden, they told Kenna to get in the car and blindfolded her-Kenna knew something special was about to happen. They took Kenna to the park where Kenna and JT shared their first kiss and places love letters from JT in her hands. As she read the words on the paper she turned around and their was JT on one knee! Kenna immediately said YES!

On a warm summer day in Houston, Texas, Kenna and JT brought family and friends together under the roof of an antique art bar to celebrate their love. Kenna and JT, thank you so much for having me as your wedding photographer! Your day was so unique, genuine, and beautiful and I was honored to have captured it for you and your families! All my love, Kelly

Kenna’s invitation suite rocked with a 1920’s classic vibe. Her bold color scheme mixed invites made guests feel like they were invited to a wedding straight out of The Great Gatsby.

A gorgeous ring. of diamonds and glimmering gold.

I adored Kenna’s dress… It’s a BHLDN dress. A beading and embroidery dream!

The couple got ready for the big day at The Historic Lancaster Hotel

Friends and family pitched in and helped the bride and groom get ready.

The couple opted for a first look. The Lancaster Hotel had the perfect room for the big reveal!

With one last picture on the historic staircase, the bride and groom were ready for photos!

The group took a trolley to bus them around the city- this way they could take selfies the whole time!

We took the bride and groom to a perfect spot at Rice University for some natural light photos in Houston, Texas.

Bowtie love!

JT’s groomsmen were a mix of close friends who kept the photo session lighthearted!

A beautiful group of ladies. Kenna’s mom(on the left next to Kenna) was even a bridesmaid!

Kenna is the sweetest! As you can see, shes gorgeous too!

JT and Kenna go so well together! They play life (and planned their wedding) by their own rules and friends and family can’t help but love them even more for it!

And the couple was off to get married!

The Nouveau Antique Art Bar lies just south of downtown in Midtown and is truly a hidden gem in the big city!

JT’s face when he saw Kenna walk down the “aisle” was perfect!

A sweet intimate ceremony under the shining Tiffany Lamps!

A gorgeous first dance!

Instead of cake, the couple opted for Marble Slab ice cream! In true summer fashion!

And the party was started!

It was a gorgeous night. Best wishes to Kenna and JT!
